THE PRODUCT
It prolongs good health, disperses superfluous humors, revives the heart and keeps you young: this is how Armando da Villanova, doctor at the Aragonese court, described gin in 1200. With this philosophy born Due Due, our gin that distilled in small batches.
Passion and research, top quality botanicals, particular attention to the environment: from the use of untreated products to recycled paper labels.
MATE embraces two cultures, European and South American, in the fusion of juniper and yerba mate. An aromatic infusion is prepared with its leaves, with a strong, tonic and energizing taste, which improves cognitive activities and increases metabolic fire.
History teaches that mate is not a simple drink, but an element with magical virtues.
London Dry Gin
GIN MATE is produced in small batches with the London Dry method in a discontinuous copper still, also called Pot Still.
It starts with steeping, or the maceration of botanicals in a hydroalcoholic solution for a day or two and then moves on to the actual distillation.
Through the three rectification plates and the botanical basket dedicated to Yerba Mate, a very refined and high quality distillate is obtained. After a period of refinement it will be diluted with purified water to allow the distillate to maintain all its characteristics without variations in taste and aroma.
Tasting notes
It is a gin that stands out for its authenticity and for its botanicals such as yerba mate, pink grapefruit, peppermint and eucalyptus.
On the palate it is pleasant with citrus notes, and fresh thanks to peppermint with a herbaceous finish, where Yerba Mate gives harmony to this set of ingredients.
